Age determination based on radioactive decay

When a radioactive isotope decays, it creates decay products.
By comparing the number of parent and daughter atoms in a sample, we can estimate the time when the sample was created.

Exercise:

We have a sample with known T half-life. The ratio of the parent and daughter nuclei is 1:3.
