The material can be evaluated individually or in groups. If there is enough time, during the evaluation the following methods can be used: discussion, collaboration and communication. Evaluation of multiple-choice questions Explaining the tests T2, T3, T4, T5 please draw the attention of the students to the fact that the probability is determined by the ratio of the numbers of “good cases” and of all events. The number of “good cases” depends also on the fact whether the coins can be distinguished or not (see comparison of T3 and T5). T6 helps to understand that the probability is independent of the previous “life”. The aim of the simulation exercise:
- To explain the decay of radioactive materials
- To demonstrate the fundamental idea of the age determination, based on the ratio of the daughter and parent atoms
