Exercise 3.

Observe how a short-living radioactive material can survive in a decay chain.
In the previous exercies it has been demonstrated that a material with decay constant 0.138 could not survive during 100 time steps.

Enter the following values for the decay constants:
0.008
0.138
0.0
Run the simulation several times in “continuous mode”. Observe whether some of the nuclei with 0.138 decay constant will still remain after 100 time steps.

Questions:
On the basis of your experiments try to answer the following question:
How can the radon (half-life: 3,825 days) cause the largest part of the natural radioactive dose? Should not it have to decay already a long time ago since the Earth was formed?
